Osa Peninsula
Property Information
Peninsula de Osa is located on Costa Rica's southernmost coast and is iconic for its spectacular tropical rainforests. In 2019, National Geographic named it one of the "most biologically intense places on earth". Drake's Bay is located in the Osa Peninsula where whales and dolphins are very frequently found. This remarkable coastal landscape has plenty to offer from desolate beaches to vivacious primary rainforests.
The Corcovado National Park is the pinnacle of the Osa Peninsula. Due to its excess of biodiversity, the Park has been protected since 1975. It contains a vast range of mammal wild life including margays, ocelots, tapirs and even the occasional jaguar. Corcovado has the biggest scarlet macaw population in Costa Rica and all four species of monkeys and both species of sloths live in the park.
Corcovado National Park is one of the richest and most diverse tropical areas on earth. It covers nearly half of the entire peninsula and has the largest lowland rainforest in Central America.
